10. Feeling de-valued by the employer – reducing this risk requires that you be able to have some insight into what the problem is and what your options are. Think about what triggers your feelings of not being valued. Your options may vary depending on what your life circumstances are. You may:

    • Leave your job
    • Change your position
    • Ask management to find ways to express how they value their employees
    • Find ways to make yourself feel valued and not depend on an agency or your clients
    • Before you are hired by an agency ask about how they value staff and whether there are opportunities to move up in the organization.

11. Lack of training – Before being hired ask:

    • What training opportunities are available for staff
    • If training and education are very important to you, see about what you would need to be able to send yourself to training or conference
