Defining Abuse
Until now we have looked at general aspects of life and specific, individual aspects of life that can lead an adult to be vulnerable. The final topic of Module 1 will be the statutory definitions of abuse as well as specific types of abuse. At the end of this topic, you will be able to:
- Define abuse, abandonment, exploitation, neglect and self-neglect.
- Assess and evaluate signs and symptoms to determine the possible type of abuse that is occurring
