In providing direct care to adults, it is important to be aware of three qualities of an adult's life and the life of the caregiver that influences how they may be treated and how they may interpret what goes on around them. These three areas are: the effects of a disability or disabilities; the effects of aging and the misunderstanding of an adult's cultural background. The first topic will present the basics in developing your awareness about these three qualities.
